The interactions between plastic and the environment are incredibly terrible. And yet we thoughtlessly throw away incredible amounts of plastic every day: wrappers, bottles, bags, broken items, shelves, tables, chairs, etc. We need to rethink our use of plastic. Let’s get our purses talking to the companies that produce plastic and push them to produce recyclable plastic or use non-plastic packaging solutions. Plastic should not end up in the gut of a harmless bird who will now starve to death because its stomach is clogged or perforated.
